We love food and we love serving and eating freshly produced, healthy food with like-minded friends. If you share this interest, join us for our culinary workshops, fueled by good food, wine and humour. The first, a bread-making weekend, takes place on 27 and 28 June 2015.
“Our artisanal bakery is run with passion by a dedicated team who are the unsung heroes behind the delicious breads served at all the different eateries on the Farm. Their love for their craft will be shared with a small group of baking fans during the weekend,”says Executive Chef Christiaan Campbell, who will be heading up the fun and insightful workshops.
The workshop starts at 14h00 on Saturday, but guests are welcome to arrive earlier and have lunch at the Deli & Farm Stall. After a short intro by Christiaan, participants will get stuck in immediately with a “quick-and-easy breads” session, after which the different doughs will be prepared for the following morning’s class. A wine tasting at the Tasting Room next to the bakery, and then dinner at The Werf Restaurant will be two of the highlights of the weekend.
Starting off with a leisurely breakfast the following morning, another session with the bakery team is lined up where final tips and expertise are shared and more complicated breads are baked. A light lunch in the Deli, featuring some of the breads from the morning, will end off the session.
Participants will leave with a Boschendal goody bag which includes a branded apron, a bottle of wine, jam from the Farm Shop, a recipe folder and some of the breads produced to share with family or friends .
