Boschendal Estate Wins At The Best of Wine Tourism Awards

Written by Lauren Berry

Boschendal is proud to announce that we are the Cape Town Regional winners for Accommodation at the 2016 Great Wine Capitals Global Network Best of Wine Tourism Awards. Held in the Bilbao’s Guggenheim Museum in Spain, these Awards celebrate innovation and excellence in wine tourism throughout the eight greatest wine regions in the world.

The Great Wine Capitals Global Network (GWC) is a network of some of the world’s leading wine-producing areas created to share and promote international best practice in wine tourism. Its Best of Wine Tourism Awards judges are drawn from amongst the world's leading tourism, food, hospitality, architectural, landscape gardening and cultural experts. This year, there were 386 nominees and 50 local award winners.

As the winner of the accommodation division, Boschendal interprets the traditional farm stay in style, with 22 fully renovated and restored farm workers’ cottages. Offering stylish simplicity, the cottages retain their rural charm despite incorporating every comfort imaginable, from large bathrooms with walk in showers to Le Creuset-equipped kitchens.

Boschendal is well known for our award winning wines and growing reputation as a farm to table food destination, including an array of dining options - The Werf Restaurant, Farm Shop & Deli, Rhone Homestead or picnic areas. Guests staying in the cottages have access to many activities, such as, horse riding, mountain biking trails, walking trails, caves to explore, wine tasting & cellar tours and trout fishing, to name a few. Visitors are invited to enjoy and savour the best of farm and wine estate living.
